~ He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. ~ Psalm 112:7 quote:
Christian, you ought not to dread the arrival of evil tidings; because if you are distressed by them, what do you more than other men? Other men have not your God to fly to; they have never proved his faithfulness as you have done, and it is no wonder if they are bowed down with alarm and cowed with fear: but you profess to be of another spirit; you have been begotten again unto a lively hope, and your heart lives in heaven and not on earthly things; now, if you are seen to be distracted as other men, what is the value of that grace which you profess to have received?... How can you glorify God if you play the coward? Saints have often sung God's high praises in the fires, but will your doubting and desponding, as if you had none to help you, magnify the Most High?... link to the entire Spurgeon Devotional Our Father in Heaven, glorified and holy, Thank You for the strength You give me, for I was spinning in my emotional state, reeling and unsteady. My eyes focused not on Your Glory but on my own worldly troubles. For I am not of the world, but of another spirit. May I never again be the coward in the face of adversity for I trust in the Lord. By Your Spirit keep me strong in You proving Your Faithfulness; that by these trials my steadfastness and perseverance will bring You Glory. I pray in the name of Jesus the Messiah, who is a strength to the needy in their distress. Amen. ~ I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. ~ John 17:15

Father, Thank you for resurrecting so many of us from our way of death. Thank you for giving us life. Please protect us from turning back to the way that leads to death. In Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.

Yes, dear Lord, find us always to be praying, and forever believing that You hear each prayer, spoken and unspoken. Let not our faith to depart, but our fear. Restore our belief, casting out any unbelief. Show us Your ways and teach us Your paths. May we seek to dwell in the House of the Lord all the days of our lives. Forever and ever, Amen

Father I thank you for each day our needs are met. I thank you for the joy we find even during the sorrow. I thank you for Christians who are Christian in heart and not just in name. I thank you that my mother taught me of you and her mother taught her of you and even though I grew up in the "lower" class of society, I was always rich in my knowledge of you. So many around me weren't. I pray I never forget how hard it is to rise above when you are not present.

I also thank You for the faith my mother shared with me as a child, for even though I stepped away for quite some years, You remained faithful and the path was always there waiting for my feet to step back on. In Jesus' name I pray. ~Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.~ Proverbs 22:6

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility. Proverbs 15:33 (NKJ) Our Father, Your Word speaks many times about humility/humbleness. I have been humbled, but do I truly remain in a humble state? Do I seek humility for the right reasons? Help me, Father, to be humble. Help me to understand humility. Help me to be a humble servant and if in Your time You exalt me, may my humility not flee that I may wholeheartedly glorify You alone. In the name of Jesus the Messiah I pray. Amen. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10 (NKJ) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 1 Peter 5:6 (NKJ) quote:
...When a man is sincerely humble, and never ventures to touch so much as a grain of the praise, there is scarcely any limit to what God will do for him. Humility makes us ready to be blessed by the God of all grace, and fits us to deal efficiently with our fellow men. True humility is a flower which will adorn any garden...link to this Spurgeon Devotional

Lord, We're such needy people and I'm always asking for help, today though I want to stop and just come before you for no reason except to fellowship and tell you that I love you. I'm glad I have you in my life, every day I know that you are there, even though the world may not visibly see you, I am never alone. It is so true that if we look into your face and focus on you, the things of this world do grow strangely dim. I realize now that I'm growing older how unimportant are some of the things that I've put so much energy into. I thank you for this day you have given me, it's a beautiful day outside and I'm going to try to live it in a way that pleases you and remember what is lasting. In Jesus name, I pray, amen.

Father, Thank you for being above our petty issues. Thank you for your patience with us...for knowing us and loving us anyway. Please help us to see our lives through your eyes, from your perspective with appropriate orientation. I praise you and ask this in the name of our Savior who is your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lord, Thank you for dying for me. I thought this morning of what you did that day on the cross, and I could almost see the drops of blood that fell for me and covered a multitude of sin. How you could love someone that much I can't totally understand, but I'm grateful. I thank you for going there and suffering such shame for me. Your word says let the redeemed of the Lord say so - because of what you did that day, I'm redeemed!!

Father, Please forgive us for the times when we try to get you to come around to what we want instead of bringing ourselves to yield to what you want. Help us to respond to you instead of trying so hard to get you to respond to us. Thank you for your patience, mercy and grace. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Father, Thank you for each day that we are able to meet with you in prayer. Thank you for not requiring that we meet you in a particular location, that we be in a particular position, or use certain memorized words. Thank you that we can talk with you and look for your answers, and your direction. We praise you and pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
